What a great idea. I have a bunch of ideas and successes to share but not enough time or patience to start a blog.
I design software that is written in c# for corporate reasons but I keep all of the algorithms also coded in Julia so that I donโt need to rely on professional developers to write experimental code for my research. Crazy thing is, my Julia code is shorter and faster than the c#.
Thanks for setting this up.
Glad to have you here @stephen ! Can't wait to see what you share.
This looks like a great response to R's R-bloggers platform for consolidating articles on julia. I hope people are willing to do the "double publish" approach that is favored there, where articles show up directly on R-bloggers with a link to personal or company websites where it was also published (ensuring credit is given where credit is due).
Yes, double publishing is a core part of Forem, you can set the canonical link to ensure the SEO boost goes to the original post!
Excited about one day Julia-lang becoming more accepted in my industryโs workflow as a viable tool for simulation, analysis, and embedded algorithm development across the enterprise.
Where do we envision this sitting relative to discourse, slack, zulip, discord, etc?
Right in the Middle. Discourse is for Q/A about technical topics. Slack, Zulip, Discord are realtime chat. This is for writing content or the like about Julia.
This platform has a lot of the social features that Discourse lacks so sharing and writing content on Discourse is not really a great experience right now
I see... I think ๐ค
Hello! Iโm excited for a platform where I can go for longer written pieces on Julia (eg. using huggingface in Julia). I hope it will encourage even more content
Same here!
Now that I would love to see! Huggingface support, and also being able to write Julia in Databricks and ML Studio. If that happened, I would be able to move entirely to Julia.
On LinkedIn you can take skill quizzes for different programming languages (like Python and R). A skill quiz for Julia is not available yet. Would be nice IMHO to promote Julia as well as your own skills. Are there plans to add Julia?
Hi! My name is Piotr and I am working on route optimization software.
I started sharing some of my experiences with Juliaโs JuMP optimization lib on youtube: Solving TSP with Julia and JUMP

Hello. Just a fellow Julian lurking around the community.
Hello :)
I have not much to say but I look forward to read what will be published here
Glad to have you here!
Thanks !
Hello
My name is Weichen
I'm glad to join Julialang community.
I like that it lets me use Comic Sans as default font for posts and comments
Hii
Glad to be here! โบ๏ธ
My name is Heramb and I am a product manager with one of the leading tech publishers. I am here to discuss the endless possibilities that #JuliaLang brings to the Data Analytics and Data Engineering world and also seek some expert insights on creating the content that will help community adopt and use #JuliaLang effectively.
let's see ... I am kinda used to and also like the R-blogger type of condensed "all blogs in one central place" style (same goes for Python-Bloggers).
But guess I can also adapt to this format since it looks familiar enough and has a few additional/new feats to it.
Btw - thanks for setting this up
Greetings, Walter
PS: shame on me - there is Julia Bloggers out there, but afaics it does not seem to be as active as the other two ... (last post there from May 27) doesn't matter I am already hooked on julia so I guess I'll be adding all the tools/channels as they come along anyway
Hi, I'm a PHP web dev. I have an interest in the general field of data science, perhaps a little more towards computer vision at the moment. I also have an interest in embedded systems which is somewhat connected with the computer vision.
I'm interested in Julia because it looks like it is designed for the domain of data science. I'm looking to learn the fundamentals of data science with the help of Julia.
I think data science will become an important tool for the advancement of society and I would like to become a part of that movement.
Hi, I'm Ronny.
I am a Mathematician, joined the NTNU Trondheim in Norway last year and I do โThings on Manifoldsโ - also numerically in Julia.
Actually, you, Logan, brought me here, and I would like to learn more about communication both of Julia stuff and Science in general.
A fun fact about myself? Hm. With the right clothes I am quite a fan of stormy and rainy weather actually.
Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to Julia but excited to use it in my teaching and research as an Economics Professor at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. My short term Julia related goal is to teach a course called 'Optimization for Economics and Data Science using Julia' this Fall to upper division Economics and Statistics students. The backbone of the class will be the superb book "Introduction to Applied Linear Algebra โ Vectors, Matrices, and Least Squares" by Boyd and Vandenberghe, which comes with a Julia companion. Maybe after I'm done I can share how it all went in this forum.
I know this at heart: someday an article will read on one of the big media houses and it would say this: "JULIA: the programming language of the 21st century."
That is exactly what brought me here. Julia described in 6 words is: "I just can't stop loving Julia."
My curiosity about Julia as leading language for developing Machine learning solutions
Hey folks!
Hey all ๐๐ผ Excited to be here!
I am Uwe from Den Haag. Hopefully I have s.th. to share soon, probably on modelling and control... Optically the layout looks pretty narrow on my widescreen monitor.
Hello! ๐๐ป My name is Olga and I am a postgraduate student in Applied Statistics. I am from Greece. I love writing articles (tutorials) about Julia! I am glad to be here! Very nice platform ๐
Folks, we are experimenting with the Forem platform. What do you think? It is built off of the same setup as dev.to. Would this fill a need in the Julia community?
Trying out threaded replies? Maybe?

syntax?Iโm happy to join this community. I work as a data scientist at StitchFix. Iโve only used Julia recreationally at this point, but Iโm looking forward to one day using it in a professional setting.
Looks like I'm the latest to join!
I'm new to Julia but loving the community you all have built! ๐
Hello, a Julian curious cat here ๐
Looking forward to amazing stuff
Hello! I'm Ifihan, glad to be here
I have used Python for five years, as an electrical engineer, with interests in reliability and maintenance. Looking to learn Julia.
