What a great idea. I have a bunch of ideas and successes to share but not enough time or patience to start a blog.

I design software that is written in c# for corporate reasons but I keep all of the algorithms also coded in Julia so that I don’t need to rely on professional developers to write experimental code for my research. Crazy thing is, my Julia code is shorter and faster than the c#.

Thanks for setting this up.

This looks like a great response to R's R-bloggers platform for consolidating articles on julia. I hope people are willing to do the "double publish" approach that is favored there, where articles show up directly on R-bloggers with a link to personal or company websites where it was also published (ensuring credit is given where credit is due).

Yes, double publishing is a core part of Forem, you can set the canonical link to ensure the SEO boost goes to the original post!

Hi everyone it's Xun!

I'm a PhD student in Clemson Univ School of Computing. I'm here because Julia is fast. I want to learn how to make my code runs more efficient and faster. I'll be happy to share my experience with you and know your experience using Julia!

Excited about one day Julia-lang becoming more accepted in my industry’s workflow as a viable tool for simulation, analysis, and embedded algorithm development across the enterprise.

Where do we envision this sitting relative to discourse, slack, zulip, discord, etc?

Right in the Middle. Discourse is for Q/A about technical topics. Slack, Zulip, Discord are realtime chat. This is for writing content or the like about Julia.

This platform has a lot of the social features that Discourse lacks so sharing and writing content on Discourse is not really a great experience right now

On LinkedIn you can take skill quizzes for different programming languages (like Python and R). A skill quiz for Julia is not available yet. Would be nice IMHO to promote Julia as well as your own skills. Are there plans to add Julia?

Hello! I’m excited for a platform where I can go for longer written pieces on Julia (eg. using huggingface in Julia). I hope it will encourage even more content

Now that I would love to see! Huggingface support, and also being able to write Julia in Databricks and ML Studio. If that happened, I would be able to move entirely to Julia.

Hey there, you futuristic crew. I'm Shadow, Shadow the Hedgehog, and I've come from the future to create this pro-rofle. I'm sorry if I pronounced it wrong, but I've come to make this channel because, well, back in my timeline, this site doesn't actually exist. It was destroyed many years ago. I would tell you how, but I may cause a big time corruption if I tell you all, so I'm just going to leave that unsaid.

But I've come from the future to create this channel for your guys' entertainment. You can expect to see post, maybe some comments. If you guys like the sound of that, make sure to hit that follow button. And I think you also need to click, heart, this notification to get notified when I upload a post. I don't really know how this site works since I don't have it in my timeline, but that's pretty much all I have to say.

Make sure you also go down into I believe it's called the "Top comments", where I will be checking who left a comment, Make sure you also follow to Sliver, too. He really deserves it. Anyway, that's all for me. Hope you guys are looking forward to the future of this channel.

See you later. Bye.

let's see ... I am kinda used to and also like the R-blogger type of condensed "all blogs in one central place" style (same goes for Python-Bloggers).
But guess I can also adapt to this format since it looks familiar enough and has a few additional/new feats to it.
Btw - thanks for setting this up

Greetings, Walter
PS: shame on me - there is Julia Bloggers out there, but afaics it does not seem to be as active as the other two ... (last post there from May 27) doesn't matter I am already hooked on julia so I guess I'll be adding all the tools/channels as they come along anyway

Derek here, software developer, working on my own project these days: resource models, e.g. power generation, distribution, and storage. Moving code from simple proof of concept (in JavaScript of all things) to Julia. Cut my teeth on Fortran decades ago; also have done plenty of C++ work.

Hi, I'm a PHP web dev. I have an interest in the general field of data science, perhaps a little more towards computer vision at the moment. I also have an interest in embedded systems which is somewhat connected with the computer vision.

I'm interested in Julia because it looks like it is designed for the domain of data science. I'm looking to learn the fundamentals of data science with the help of Julia.

I think data science will become an important tool for the advancement of society and I would like to become a part of that movement.

Order software design with Julia
Hello friends
Does anyone know the program in Julia programming language? I want to order a program with Julia programming language.
I want to write a program that takes a number of data (both individually and in groups) from specific websites and displays them in tables (such as Excel or Access) so that I can write formulas on them in the tables.
Also, this program can be developed so that it is possible for me to develop it in the future.
The data and information I want are from news and economic sites.
The program takes data from economic sites and displays it to me in the form of tables, and I can write formulas on them (such as writing Excel formulas) and it can show me in the form of graphs (bar and line).
Also, according to the user's choice, the program can do this task (formula writing) at the selected times (different time frames such as the one in Metatrader, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) and save the file and open the new file.
some notes:
1- The sites can be selected by the user.
2- It is possible to add parameters received from the site. (For example, it extracts two data today, it may extract 10 data later with the development of the strategy.)
3- It is possible to collect data in groups and individually.
4- Display the data in tables.
5- It is possible to write formulas on the data.
6- It is possible to display data in charts (such as bar and line charts).
7- It is possible to save the file in different time frames (automatically)
8- Some data may be added manually by the user.
9- It is possible to connect the program to search engines, Twitter, Google Alert service and email, etc.
10- It is possible to develop software and use artificial intelligence and machine learning tools.
