I'm an Economics Professor at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. I do research on Microeconomic Theory and teach courses on microeconomics and decision analysis at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to Julia but excited to use it in my teaching and research as an Economics Professor at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. My short term Julia related goal is to teach a course called 'Optimization for Economics and Data Science using Julia' this Fall to upper division Economics and Statistics students. The backbone of the class will be the superb book "Introduction to Applied Linear Algebra – Vectors, Matrices, and Least Squares" by Boyd and Vandenberghe, which comes with a Julia companion. Maybe after I'm done I can share how it all went in this forum.
